Buenos Aires is home to the largest Jewish community in Latin America, and its kosher dining scene is the richest in the region. The historic heart is Once (part of the Balvanera barrio), a dense cluster of parrillas, pizzerias, bakeries, and ice cream shops along Tucuman, Paso, and San Luis streets, with additional venues in Belgrano, Palermo, Flores, Recoleta, and Puerto Madero. Most establishments are supervised by community authorities, principally Ajdut Kosher, the Sephardic rabbinate under Rabbi Isaac (Yosef) Chehebar, and Chabad (Jabad) affiliated hashgachot.
