Kosher Restaurants in Bordeaux
Bordeaux has a historic Jewish community, one of the oldest in France, and today supports a small but real kosher dining scene concentrated in and around the city center. Most eateries are certified by the local Chabad-Loubavitch of Bordeaux, while the community restaurant inside the Grande Synagogue operates under the Rabbinate (Beth Din) of Bordeaux. Expect a handful of venues rather than a large cluster, so checking hours ahead is wise.
Kosher venues sit mostly in the Bordeaux city center, near the Grand Theatre, Palais Gallien and rue Sainte-Catherine, all walkable and served by the tram network, with one pizzeria further south on cours de la Somme (33800). The Grande Synagogue near place de la Victoire anchors community life and houses a lunchtime kosher restaurant. All kosher eateries close for Shabbat from Friday afternoon through Saturday, so plan Friday meals early and arrange Shabbat food in advance.
