Marrakesh has a centuries-old Jewish heritage rooted in the historic Mellah (Jewish quarter) beside the medina, though most kosher dining today is concentrated in the modern Gueliz (Ville Nouvelle) district near the Beth-El synagogue. Kosher food is available to tourists through a handful of restaurants, bakeries and caterers supervised by Chabad of Marrakech and the local Jewish community. Options range from Moroccan-Jewish tagine houses to kosher Asian, Italian dairy, grill and falafel eateries.

Traveler's note

Nearly all kosher venues are in Gueliz/Ville Nouvelle (around Rue Yougoslavie, Rue de la Liberte and the Beth-El synagogue), with a few hotel restaurants on Boulevard Mohamed VI. Chabad of Marrakech (Rue Ibn Qodama, WhatsApp +212 674955563, Rabbi Shimon Lachyani) runs Shabbat and holiday meals for visitors and can advise on current kashrut. There is no eruv in Marrakesh, and some venues serve prepared Shabbat/holiday food by advance order only. Community catering (Ochion, Halluawa families) is also available for tourists.
