Kosher Restaurants in Tiberias
Tiberias is a lakeside tourist city on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret), and like most of Israel its dining scene is overwhelmingly kosher. Restaurants cluster along the waterfront promenade (tayelet) and the adjoining Lido beach and midrachov pedestrian mall, ranging from Galilee fish grills to a Michelin-chef hotel restaurant. Most eateries carry the baseline teudah of the Chief Rabbinate of Tiberias (Rabbanut Tiberias), while a smaller number hold higher Glatt or Mehadrin supervision.
The main kosher cluster runs along the Kinneret promenade, the Lido beach area to the north, and the short HaKishon Street block by the Leonardo Club hotel. Nearly all certified kosher restaurants close for Shabbat, shutting Friday afternoon and reopening Saturday night after nightfall, so plan for hotel meals or pre-Shabbat purchases. Many promenade venues take walk-ins in summer but reserve ahead for the fine-dining rooms.
