Manara, Tel Aviv: the best kosher date spot, fresh fish and a sunset sea view

If you are looking for the best kosher date spot in Tel Aviv, this is it. Manara is where I take my partner when I want a romantic night out, and it is where I have also come more than once with family. Everything about the place is built for the occasion: fresh, creative fish, warm service, and one of the best sea views of any kosher restaurant in the city. The setting is the whole story. Manara sits inside the Sheraton Tel Aviv, right on the beach, with tall windows looking straight out over the sand and the sea. Come at golden hour, just before sunset, and ask for a table by the window. The light over the Tel Aviv beach at that time is beautiful, and the window seats are not too hot then, so you get the view without the glare. The tables for two are well spaced, so you can actually talk quietly and feel like you are on a date, not sharing a meal with the couple at the next table. For a romantic dinner, that spacing matters more than people think. The food lives up to the room. This is a kosher dairy and fish kitchen, and the fish is genuinely fresh, with creative recipes that stay balanced instead of showing off. A few dishes that stood out to me: The fish carpaccio is a plate of paper-thin slices of raw white fish, scattered with toasted pine nuts and pistachios, ribbons of fresh herbs, good olive oil, and a squeeze of lemon. It is bright, clean, and full of texture, exactly what you want to start with. The fish crudo is served with a smooth, gently spiced pepper sauce and a fine chopped relish of cucumber, peppers, and onion along one side, so every bite has the softness of the raw fish, a little heat from the sauce, and a fresh crunch from the vegetables. It is a beautiful plate and a smart one. There is also a lovely tuna, dressed simply in olive oil so the quality of the fish speaks for itself. If you are ordering for a date, start with the raw fish dishes and share. They are the highlight, and they photograph beautifully with the sea behind them. A few practical tips from going a few times. There is valet parking, which is a real convenience in that part of Tel Aviv. On seating, the hostess will often try to place you wherever is easiest for them, not at the view you came for. As anywhere in Israel, politely push back and ask for a sea-view table. I like to call ahead to try to hold that spot; they will usually say they cannot promise it, so ask again when you arrive and stand your ground. It is worth it, and it is the difference between a nice dinner and a memorable one. On price, Manara is middle to high end, around 250 shekels per person, and the prices make sense for what it is: a beachfront kosher restaurant inside a five-star hotel, with real cooking and a view you are genuinely paying to sit in front of. Bottom line: for a romantic dinner, an anniversary, or simply taking someone somewhere that will impress, Manara is my top kosher recommendation in Tel Aviv. It is the kosher restaurant in Tel Aviv I send people to when the evening needs to feel special. Go at sunset, get the window, order the raw fish, and enjoy.
