South Florida is one of North America's largest kosher hubs, with dense clusters of restaurants and eateries across Miami-Dade and Broward/Palm Beach. Establishments are certified under a clean duopoly: Kosher Miami (KM), the Vaad HaKashrus of Miami-Dade, supervises Miami Beach, Aventura, Surfside, Sunny Isles and North Miami Beach, while ORB (Orthodox Rabbinical Board of Broward & Palm Beach) covers Hollywood, Hallandale, and Boca Raton. Options span dairy cafes, meat grills, pizza, sushi, bakeries and take-out.

Traveler's note

Aventura and North Miami Beach have the deepest concentration of meat and dairy restaurants; Miami Beach, Surfside and Sunny Isles serve the beachfront hotel corridor; Hollywood/Hallandale and Boca Raton anchor the Broward/Palm Beach (ORB) scene. Overall a very strong kosher travel destination with year-round and seasonal options.

Where to eat kosher in Miami

South Florida is one of the great kosher travel destinations in America, and it runs on a season. The beachfront hotels, the Aventura restaurants, and a winter crowd that doubles the demand all shape when and where you eat.

Aventura, the Beaches, and Hollywood

The kosher map here has a few clear anchors. North Miami Beach and Aventura hold the deepest concentration of everyday meat and dairy restaurants, and Aventura in particular is where a lot of visitors base themselves for the mix of restaurants, hotels, and shopping. Surfside, Miami Beach, and Sunny Isles serve the beachfront hotel corridor, which is where the winter and Pesach crowds land. Up in Broward, Hollywood and Hallandale anchor a second scene, with Boca Raton further north.

That last split matters for one practical reason: certification. Miami-Dade (Miami Beach, Aventura, Surfside, Sunny Isles, North Miami Beach) is supervised by Kosher Miami, the KM of the Vaad HaKashrus of Miami-Dade, while Broward and Palm Beach (Hollywood, Hallandale, Boca) fall under ORB, the Orthodox Rabbinical Board. Cross the county line and the hechsher on the door changes, even though the food scene feels continuous.

Season is everything

This is the one city on our list where timing changes the experience more than geography. From roughly November through Pesach, South Florida fills with seasonal visitors, hotel programs run, and restaurants are at their busiest and their best staffed. In the deep summer, some places quiet down or trim hours. If you are coming in high season, book the popular Aventura and Beach restaurants ahead, especially on a Saturday night and around the holidays, when the whole corridor eats out at once.
